This is because it is the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) which means we're testing the market, making sure people join, learning about the type of people who join and show the most interest in our business and project - and more importantly to help us discover what features are absolutely needed and what we should be focusing on first. This will make for a more useful product sooner, and an efficient and better product later on. We want our software to be simple, easy to use, and meet the needs of most all the people at first. In the beginning we are shooting for simplicity, usefulness, and easy to use.
Once we figure out many more things, and start making some revenue - we will probably re-program the website from start to finish, add new features, and really optimize the site for increasing sales by focusing on social sharing, SEO, and other related aspects. In a year or two from now the site will not even be close to what you know it as now.
